Create Brand Specific Course Permissions

How to Create Courses That Are Only Visible to Users of a Specific Brand

If your organization uses multiple brands within a single Tovuti instance, you may want to create courses that are visible to one brand but not others. Doing this is a fairly straightforward process.

Create a User Group(s) to Be Used By the Brand:

Assign User Groups to a Specific Brand via Subscription Plan:

The way that specific user groups are assigned to brands is through the use of subscription plans. When creating a new subscription plan for the brand, under the General Options tab, go to the Add to Usergroup(s) field as shown below and select the user groups that the subscription plan will be associated with:

Add User Group Permissions to Courses:

Now course permissions are going to be set for the user group(s) that were specified in the Subscription Plan.

Go into a course to be permissioned for the brand in question. Under the Permissions tab, change the Purchase/Register Permission Type to User Group and then select the user group(s) that will be able to take the course.

Now select User Group from the Visibility Permission Type dropdown and then select the user group(s)that will be able to see the course. Please note: This will make the course invisible to everyone not in the specified user group(s) including administrators.

When finished, save changes.

Now when a new user to the brand logs in, they will see courses that are only meant to be shown to users of that specific brand.
