Auto Notifications: How To Communicate With Your Users

This article will guide you through the ins and outs of setting up auto-notifications in your Tovuti instance.

Intro!

Have you been wondering how to best organize auto communications with your users? The Auto Notifications section of the Communications tab is the answer. There are seven different types of auto-notifications:

1. Subscription Registration

2. Course Registration

3. Course Purchased

4. Course Assigned

5. Course Recommended

6. Course Due

7. Certificate or Badge Expiration

 

Let's begin with where to find them.

First, select the Communications tab in your Admin. portal.

Next, select Auto Notifications

Select New

A new menu will open. Select Alert Type

Select the type of auto-notification you wish to create!

Subscription Registration

This notification is sent when a user signs up for a subscription.

With this notification, you can associate it with a specific brand, have it go out with select subscription plans (or all), and customize the email that gets sent to users.

Note: You'll need to ensure you have your Subscription set up first. Go to Subscriptions > Subscription Plan

Course Registration

This notification is sent when a user registers for a course.

With this notification, you can associate it with a specific brand, have it go out with select courses (or all), and customize the email that gets sent to users.

Note: You'll need to ensure you have your Course set up first. Go to Learning > Courses

Course Purchased

This notification is sent when a user purchases a course. This is generally used as a proof of purchase for your users.

With this notification, you can associate it with a specific brand, have it go out with select courses (or all), and customize the email that gets sent to users.

Course Assigned

These notifications get sent to users when a course has been assigned to them. 

With this notification, you can associate it with a specific brand, have it go out with select courses (or all), and customize the email that gets sent to users.

Note: You'll need to ensure you have your Assignment set up first. Go to Learning > Assign & Recommend.

Course Recommended 

This notification alerts users that a course has been recommended to them.  

With this notification, you can associate it with a specific brand, have it go out with select courses (or all), and customize the email that gets sent to users.

Note: Similar to Course Assigned, you'll need to have the Assign & Recommend rule set up prior to creating this notification.

Course Due

This notifies users that a course is approaching its due date. 

You can customize the notification to be associated with a specific brand, have it go out with select courses (or all), customize the email that gets sent to users, and designate the interval at which the notification will go out. 

The interval can be set to a number of days before or after the due date.

Certificate or Badge Expiration

This notifies users that a Certificate or Badge is set to expire within Tovuti. 

You can customize the notification to be associated with a specific brand, have it go out for select Certificates or Badges (or all), customize the email that gets sent to users, and designate the interval at which the notification will go out.
