How Are Brands Useful?

Brands are one of the core components to designing your look and feel for your site visitors, whether they’re stopping by or staying, Brands help you deliver a consistent experience!

With Brands you can update and design your website from a single location for generalized updates, and then make smaller, more exact changes on your Homepage, Login Pages and Learner Portal!

You can use Brands to create content and have it appear across your brands, so you have less work to do! The content you share on one brand will appear on all brands for your website. This is useful if you have many brands or organizations you service that you want to deliver the same content to without having to duplicate your work multiple times.


Can I Make Some Courses Only Available on One Brand?

Brands do not separate content from one brand to another. Brands allow you to create different looks for the same content you are delivering - you are still on your single website. If you do not want content from one brand appearing on another brand, you will need to utilize User Groups to curate and segment your content. 

Additionally, content is accessible and visible cross-brand when using the following user groups:

  • Public
  • Registered
  • Sub-Administrator
  • Site Administrator

If you want to hide content from one brand and make it visible on another brand, you will need to create a user group for each brand and make sure content is curated and configured correctly. Please note the following examples:

  • A Course/Category/Media File Only Visible to Brand 1:

  • A Course/Category/Media File Only Visible to Brand 2:

  • Examples of a Course/Category/Media File Visible Cross-Brand:

Note: Because every user in your site needs to belong to the "Registered" user group, all of your users will belong to this group, so exposing content to "Registered" will make it available to all users in your site.

If you are not careful with the user groups your content is visible and accessible to, you will encounter Brand Cross-Contamination and your content will be visible cross-brand.

If you absolutely do not want content to be visible and accessible cross-brand, please contact your account manager for further information regarding options and ways Tovuti can be used to reduce Cross-Brand content.
